Apple has just announced at WWDC 2017 that iOS 11 will have support for reading NFC tags. This means that all iPhone 7 and newer will be able to read NFC tags just like Android, Blackberry and MSMobile. While the iOS NFC API docs (Core NFC) are live on the Apple developer site, they appear to be at an early stage and there are still some questions need clarifying.
This is great news for Tap4 ICE ID tags as it means that by the Autumn about another 250M+ mobile phones can instantly read our ID stickers and mini ID tags. This should greatly expand the knowledge of NFC and just how easy it is to tap one of our ID stickers or emergency ID tags to get access to vital emergency, medical and contact details.
